Work place etiquette is very important to business owners; the most important thing to a business owner is that you’re on time. Punctuality is important because it shows that you are willing to work, you know your responsibilities of your job, and that you’re a team player. Usually the only time being late is acceptable is if there is an emergency or if your child is sick. The emergency you have would require to call your place of work and let them know that, you are either not coming or you will be running late. Etiquette in business also knowing how to talk to customer with respect and knowledge, because if you talk to them as if they weren’t important, they may never use the company you work for again. If you lose your company some business that could be ground for termination or suspensions, meaning that you will not get paid. Depending on what type of job you have their dress code may be a part of their etiquette as well, the way you dress for work will depend on what you do, if you are an office worker you make need to wear nice clothes to look professional. You should also be aware of your surroundings at work, keep an eye on how loud you talk and what comes out of your mouth, it’s not a lunch date with friends, you’re at work. A workplace is just what it says a place of work, you should try not making friends at work, also keep your social network at work to a bare minimum, you shouldn’t be on facebook while you’re at work, wait till you get home. Another thing you should be aware of is eating at work, be considerate of other eating and what you’re eating, because what you’re eating could offend someone, and always remember to wash your hands after you have eaten. Remember that your workplace is a place of work and should be treated with respect at all times.
