The training of employees is important, it gives them the information they will need to do their job correctly, if you train them with what they don’t need to know then what’s the point of the training in the first place. If you were working in an office you wouldn’t train your employees how to make put a bandage on, would you? At the start of each training, you should tell the person learning what they will be able to complete at the end of the training session. Make the training practical, if it’s a new way of doing something that they have been the old way, it might make it difficult for them to transition. Try to make the training last a few weeks, not meaning everyday in those weeks but maybe once a week for 3 weeks or so, trying to get them to learn in one day may be hard for some people to take it all in. this would also give them time to go from the old way to the new way more smoothly. Bring the training room to the workplace with on the job aids like checklists, reminder cards, flow charts and software templates and internet connection to browse accredited online colleges sites etc. Businesses waste a lot of money on ineffective training program for employees, not everyone learns the same way but if the training is effective to everyone then the company doesn’t waste money. Something that might help with the training would be a post evaluation test, which is give 3 to 6 months after the course has been taken to see if everyone still remembers what they learned, making it well known before hand will make it less surprising to workers and managers, if you provided good and effective training your employees will do great on this test. Educated worker are productive workers.
